As of November, I developed an ache in my shoulder while walking 4km per day. Within minutes the minor ache unleashed its fury with consistent fire like pain shootings down my arm and two fingers which also became numb. In the initial assessment, Dr. Dave discovered I had a pinched nerve. Frustration set in during my treatments as the pain persisted at first. However, my own patience and persistence paid off. We all would like a quick fix, but I was looking for any glimmer of hope or some light at the end of the tunnel. As of January, I have improved 90% and can now carry on all normal daily functions as well as continuing my 4km walks each day. I learned that although the doctor does his part, I must too do my part for rehabilitation such as following your advice and exercises.

Marianne and I would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to Dr. MacAskill for the amazing level of care you provided during my recent three attacks of acute back pain. You truly went “the extra mile” by making house calls and providing the much needed emotional support when no one in the medical community would do so. You are a true hero of your profession and our community!
